Sunnyside is a compilation by musicians residing in Naarm. It was conceived to help bring a little sunshine while most of us at the time of its creation were living through heavy lockdowns due to Corona virus. As lockdowns are easing, this tape can now alternatively be used as a soundtrack while re-entering and adjusting to the widening world again. All sales of the first week’s copies are going to the Djab Wurrung protection fund. All online profits after that will be split between the artists involved and Djab Wurrung embassy support. If you pay more than the suggested $30 the extra money will be sent to Djab Wurrung.

Physical copies of the compilation are available on tape and CD-R, with a free download code included. Both also come with flower seeds to plant, to complement this period of change and growth, growth’s reliance on sunshine, and the importance of nurturing slower and more subtle developments during these times.

Sunnyside was made on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay our respects to the traditional owners past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Indigenous peoples in Naarm, and the rest of this land mass commonly known as Australia.
